Welcome to Monument Ridge

Dear Families,

It is hard to believe that it has been three years since we opened Monument Ridge Elementary School. The three years have passed by so quickly!

We are finally making a name for ourselves at Monument Ridge as our school takes on its own identity and things that make it special. This past year we were excited to welcome many new families to Monument Ridge, as well as some new staff members. Watching our school community grow has been a lot of fun for all of us!

Last year brought lots of opportunities for families to be involved and visit our learning space. We loved having parents visit for lunch, volunteer in classrooms, attend music programs, participate in classroom activities, teach Art Heritage lessons, read in classrooms, visit the Book Fair and participate in PTO! We also had some “firsts'' last year including our outdoor choir program at the Civic Center, Switch-A-Roo Days, Level Up Day, Whobilation and Cookie Decorating Party and our Outdoor Education Program!  We also started a new tradition of snowshoeing on the Grand Mesa and learning archery in PE. Our new soccer goals were a big hit as well!  We are so excited to continue growing these unique opportunities for all students at Monument Ridge!

In year four, I thought the novelty of being in a new school building would begin to wear off, but it hasn’t! More people come to visit and our school is beginning to stand out for all the right reasons! I really enjoy seeing how much students love their school!  One thing that sets us apart are the amazing people who work here, the cool stuff we have for learning, our comfy break out spaces and our amazing playground! I am incredibly proud of how our children embrace the school vision, demonstrate expected behaviors and show kindness toward others. I am a very lucky principal!

Thank you families for working hard to help your learners and supporting our vision of keeping kindness at the forefront.

Fondly,

Emma-Leigh Larsen, Principal
