Welcome to Monument Ridge

Dear Monument Ridge Families,

It is hard to believe that we are already in the second year at our amazing school and nearing the end of the first quarter of learning!  We started this school year with several new staff members and more than 40 new students and their families!  We sure are growing!

As a school, we unpacked our vision, Building a Community of Kind Learners, with all students. We want to be sure that all children know and understand that the school vision is the foundation for all of the interactions we have and the work we do!  We also reviewed common expectations and taught lessons in Zones of Regulation which is used in Kindergarten through fifth grade.

We are well underway with assessing our learners and planning for their success!  Children in Grades 3-5 will be taking the NWEA and those in grades K-3 were assessed using DIBELS.  These assessments help teachers to know where students’ strengths lie in the areas of Reading and Math. With these beginning of the year assessments behind us, the teachers worked hard to develop goals specific to our school that will guide the work that we do to support learners this year.  Strengthening our Learning Communities continues to be a top priority.  As always, the Friday afternoon work we do together is focused around the goal of continual improvement for all learners and to help support our staff with their individual learning needs.

Each year, schools are required to develop goals related to improving student achievement and growth.  Our goals this year are specific to improving Math achievement and growth  and continuing to develop a strong culture and climate for students and staff at MRE.

We have loved seeing our families become more involved this school year and are excited to welcome visitors back into our buildings!  Fall conferences were well attended this past week and we thank you for partnering with us!
